[Contxto] – So far, this has been an exciting week for Latin American seed rounds. Not even three days into October and we have already covered some milestones. LAR.app raised US$1.9 million, not to mention Quicko and its substantial US$10 million.
While both of these startups are from Brazil, HRtech Worcket from Argentina is now joining them. The company leveraging AI, machine learning and Big Data into the hiring platform recently announced a seed round of US$1.5 million led by NXTP Ventures.
With new funds, Worcket plans to scale its technology in Latin America and Europe, Spain being the first recipient, according to a recent press release. Other goals reportedly involve strengthening its R&D, in addition to growing its commercial and management teams.
Strategic partnership with NXTP
CEO Gonzalo Agüero, CTO Leandro Boffi and Nicolás Cirigliano leading Business Development founded Worcket in November 2018. According to Agüero, NXTP has become a strategic ally for Worcket and was paramount to recent restructuring.
“They not only advised us in making decisions to grow but also contributed to reformulate the structure of the company and guided us in several improvements to our internal processes,” said Agüero in a recent press release.
Going into the collaboration with a receptive attitude allowed the startup to see the real potential. The team reportedly received investment offers from other VC funds in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and even the United States before starting conversations with NXTP in February 2019.
“We remained open to their advice and immediately saw progress in the results,” added Agüero. “This convinced us that they were really interested in our project and that they were the right investors to join us at this stage.”
For NXTP, the firm is confident that Agüero’s leadership will yield positive results for the startup.
“Gonzalo’s extensive experience in human resources makes him an exceptionally prepared founder to transform the talent acquisition process of companies,” said Alex Busse from NXTP Ventures.
“The Worcket team designed a world-class technology-based product with enormous potential to scale not only regionally, but also globally. We are passionate about being part of Worcket’s growth path to help companies find the best talent.”
HR tech management platform
One could call Worcket an all-encompassing ecosystem for human resource (HR) departments. Certain benefits range from lower staff turnover rates, meaning fewer people end up quitting. In turn, partnering companies can reduce wasted expenditure on hiring needs.
Some of Worcket’s most famous clients reportedly include YPF, Banco Macro, Banco Itau, as well as Telmex. Today, it maintains a team of 30 professionals developing software in Argentine. It also has a commercial team in Mexico City where it’s headquartered.
